Switching from uSERP to Essentras

Thinking about moving off uSERP? Here is exactly what the move involves, what carries over, and what does not.

Essentras Editorial Team/Reviewed 4 Oct 2026/63 vendor pricing pages checked/How we compared

Yes. Every link uSERP already placed stays live on the publisher's own domain. Nothing is pulled down when you cancel, and there is no data or integration to migrate. The real constraint is contractual: a 3 or 6-month minimum term, then 30 to 60 days' written notice, so exit can take up to two more billing cycles.

Talk through your move

No obligation, and no pitch until you have seen what the replacement actually costs.

Why companies move off uSERP

These are the reasons buyers give, not reasons we would like them to have. uSERP is a good fit for a specific case, stated further down.

The term outlasts the decision

uSERP's published terms lock Launch customers in for 3 months and Accelerate, Dominate or Market Leader customers for 6, then require 30 to 60 days' written notice to cancel. Deciding to leave does not end the billing.

No say in the outlet

The published tiers are priced and delivered by domain-rating tier and link volume, for example 16 DR60+ links a month, with outlet selection handled inside uSERP's own process. A buyer cannot choose the specific publication before paying.

Top-tier price stays hidden

uSERP's FAQ states a full range of $5,000 to $25,000+ a month, but the standalone monthly price of its top Market Leader tier is never shown on the public pricing page, only its annual prepay saving.

Billing starts before the work

Per uSERP's own terms, the first invoice is due on the day you sign, then monthly on the 1st, due within 5 business days. Net30 terms only apply once a contract exceeds $20,000 a month.

The five phases of moving off uSERP

Leaving uSERP itself takes as long as its notice period, 30 days on Launch or 60 on Accelerate, Dominate and Market Leader, once the 3 or 6-month minimum term has passed. That excludes how long a replacement placement takes to turn around elsewhere, which varies by publication and is not fixed.

  1. 1

    Find your notice date

    Day 1

Check your signed order form for which tier you are on. Launch needs 3 months before you can cancel. Accelerate, Dominate and Market Leader need 6. After that, cancellation needs 30 days' written notice on Launch, 60 on the others.

  2. 2

    Place your first replacement order

    Day 1 to 3

Pick an outlet from the Essentras catalog. Price, turnaround and the dofollow or nofollow policy are shown before you pay, so you choose the specific publication yourself, something the uSERP tiers do not let you do.

  3. 3

    Run it alongside uSERP

    Week 1 to 2

There is nothing to migrate and no integration to disconnect, so the new placement can go live while the retainer is still active. Nothing about uSERP's delivery changes because you bought elsewhere in the meantime.

  4. 4

    Send written cancellation

    Month 3 or 6

Once your minimum term is up, 3 months on Launch or 6 on the others, submit the 30 or 60-day written notice the contract requires. Send it the day you are eligible rather than waiting for a better moment.

  5. 5

    Retainer closes

    30 to 60 days later

Once the notice period elapses, monthly billing stops. Every link uSERP already placed stays live on the publisher's own domain, since the article was never hosted by uSERP and ending the contract does not touch it.

What you keep, and what you do not

Carries over

  • Every link uSERP already placed. It lives on the publisher's own domain, not on anything uSERP hosts, so cancelling cannot remove it.
  • Any on-page or internal-linking briefs delivered on Accelerate, Dominate or Market Leader. Those are already in your hands, independent of the ongoing contract.
  • The domain authority those links already built. It does not reverse when the monthly retainer ends.
  • Monthly reports uSERP already sent. There is no platform or dashboard to export from, since reporting was delivered to you directly rather than hosted.

Does not carry over

  • Outlet selection. Essentras has you choose the specific publication, price and turnaround before you pay, instead of a DR-tier quota chosen for you.
  • The billing model. A monthly retainer becomes a per-placement purchase, so you pay only for the specific order you place.
  • The lock-in. No more 3 or 6-month minimum term and no more 30 to 60 days' notice required just to stop buying.
  • What a placement means. Instead of a count of DR60+ links delivered against a monthly quota, you get a confirmed URL on the named outlet you selected.

Contract note. Per uSERP's own pricing page (two sections, worded differently): entry tier = initial 3-month commitment, then month-to-month with a 30-day cancellation notice; Accelerate/Dominate/Market Leader = 6-month initial term, then month-to-month with 60 days' written cancellation notice. 12-month prepay discounts are offered (e.g. "12-month Launch saves $5,500/yr," up to "Market Leader saves $25k/yr"). First invoice is due on contract signing, then monthly on the 1st, due within 5 business days; Net30 terms apply only to contracts over $20,000/month.

Best forEnterprise and funded mid-market companies ($10M+ revenue, 50+ employees per uSERP's own screening) that want a fully-managed, multi-month link-building and digital-PR retainer run by senior in-house strategists, rather than a self-serve, pick-your-own-outlet purchase.Buyers who need to know the publication, its link policy and its price before paying, and who want a single placement rather than a monthly link quota.

When uSERP is the better buy

An enterprise or well-funded mid-market company that wants a single outside team to run an ongoing link-building and digital-PR program end-to-end - research, outreach, on-page strategy, internal linking, and reporting - without the buyer having to evaluate and choose individual outlets each month, is a genuine fit for uSERP's model. Its Clutch record (4.9/5 across 21 reviews) and named enterprise clients (monday.com, Robinhood, CrowdStrike) suggest real delivery at that scale, and the built-in six-month link-replacement guarantee removes one piece of ongoing risk that a self-serve, pick-your-own-outlet marketplace leaves on the buyer. For a company with the budget and the appetite for a multi-month managed retainer rather than transaction-by-transaction buying, that is a legitimate reason to choose uSERP over a marketplace like Essentras.

How we compared

Contract and pricing details were read off uSERP's own published terms and pricing pages on 4 October 2026. Where a term is not published, this page says so instead of describing one.

  • 01Is the specific publication named before payment, or only revealed after the piece is live?
  • 02Is the full per-outlet price list public, or does it sit behind an account application?
  • 03Is the dofollow or nofollow policy, and any sponsored label, stated per outlet before checkout?
  • 04Can you buy a single placement, or does the published model require a retainer or minimum term?
  • 05If the link is removed, what is the remedy, replacement, store credit or cash, and for how long?

Deliberately excluded. Anything a sales representative said on a call, and anything reported in a single review without a document behind it.

Essentras sells services in this category, so this page is not a neutral review. Every competitor figure is published list pricing you can check on the vendor's own site, and the case for choosing a competitor over us is stated on every entry rather than left out.

FAQ

Switching from uSERP, FAQ

Can I leave uSERP before the minimum term ends?▾

uSERP's published terms describe a 3-month initial term for Launch and a 6-month initial term for Accelerate, Dominate and Market Leader before converting to month-to-month. No early-exit option inside that window is described on the pricing page, so the realistic earliest exit is the end of your initial term plus the written notice period.

How much notice does uSERP actually require?▾

30 days' written notice on Launch, 60 days on Accelerate, Dominate and Market Leader, per uSERP's own pricing page. Notice is required in addition to finishing your minimum term, not instead of it, so a buyer who cancels right at month 6 is still billed for up to two more months.

Will the articles uSERP already placed disappear if I cancel?▾

No. A placement is published on the outlet's own domain, not on anything uSERP hosts or controls. Cancelling the retainer stops new placements and reporting. It does not and cannot pull down pages that already exist on a publisher's site, whether uSERP or any other vendor placed them.

Is there anything to migrate when I switch?▾

No. This category has no shared login, dashboard export or integration to disconnect. Links already live stay exactly where they are, and a new vendor simply starts producing new placements going forward. The only administrative step is submitting written cancellation within your contract's notice terms.

Do I have to wait for the uSERP contract to end before trying something else?▾

No, and waiting is the slower path. Because there is nothing to migrate, you can place your first order on Essentras's catalog while uSERP's retainer is still running, then send written cancellation once your minimum term is up. That way a placement is always in progress, not paused between vendors.

Is there a genuine reason to stay with a retainer model like uSERP's?▾

Yes. If you want one outside team running outreach, strategy, on-page briefs and internal linking as a single ongoing program, rather than evaluating individual outlets yourself, that is what uSERP is built for. Its Clutch record (4.9/5 across 21 reviews) and named enterprise clients suggest it delivers at that scale. Essentras has no enterprise seat model, no SSO and no dedicated account manager on a standard order, so a company that specifically wants a managed retainer with a CSM is better served staying put.

Does uSERP's link-replacement guarantee still apply after I cancel?▾

uSERP states that a placement taken down or de-indexed is replaced within six months at equal-or-better metrics. The published material does not say whether that guarantee continues once the account is no longer active, so its status after cancellation should be treated as unconfirmed rather than assumed either way.
