NetReputation vs Status Labs
Two quote-only reputation agencies, compared on contract terms, scope and risk, not price you cannot see.
Choose NetReputation when the problem includes removable review violations, defamation needing legal escalation, or a Wikipedia build, and you accept a signed, non-refundable Agreement. Choose Status Labs when the mandate is broader: crisis communications, regulatory or shareholder situations alongside search work. Both are quote-only. Neither publishes price, contract term or refund terms.
NetReputation
Full-service US online reputation management agency (removal, suppression, review management, crisis/Wikipedia work) sold as a custom-quoted client Agreement, not a published plan.
Status Labs
Austin-headquartered online reputation management and crisis-communications agency serving corporations, executives and public figures, with custom-quoted engagements spanning search suppression, SEO, crisis advisory and newer AI/GEO visibility work.
Essentras
Review removal priced per review, with suppression built from articles published on outlets you choose.
Why NetReputation and Status Labs buyers end up looking at a third option
Essentras fits a narrower need: removing or suppressing specific negative content item by item, or building a Wikipedia page or Knowledge Panel, with the price, turnaround and link policy for each outlet shown before you pay. It does not run crisis communications, legal escalation or regulated newswire filing, and it is a smaller operation than either agency, with no dedicated account team on a standard order. Choose it when the job is a defined list of items to fix, not an open-ended program to run, since it guarantees no ranking or AI citation any more than either agency can guarantee a specific outcome.
Priced before the call
Review removal is priced per review and shown before you buy. No consultation stands between you and the number.
Nothing to cancel
No retainer, no minimum, no annual term and no auto-renewal clause. Buy one review or one placement and stop.
Assets you keep
Suppression runs on articles published to named third-party outlets. Each one is a live URL that stays up after the work ends.

The decision, in three lines
Pick NetReputation if
Pick NetReputation when the case includes policy-violating reviews eligible for platform removal, defamatory content that needs DMCA or legal escalation, or a Wikipedia page to build or correct, and having one agency run all of it matters more than seeing a price before you call.
Pick Status Labs if
Pick Status Labs when the mandate goes beyond search results into crisis communications, a leadership transition, shareholder activism, or a regulatory matter, where in-house strategic advisory counsel alongside the reputation work is the point.
Pick Essentras if
Essentras fits a narrower need: removing or suppressing specific negative content item by item, or building a Wikipedia page or Knowledge Panel, with the price, turnaround and link policy for each outlet shown before you pay.
Where NetReputation genuinely wins
A business or executive facing a complex, multi-front reputation problem, defamatory news coverage needing legal/DMCA escalation, a Wikipedia page that needs to be built or corrected, an executive's search results, and a coordinated PR/crisis response, all at once, genuinely needs an agency with legal escalation paths, PR relationships and a named account team coordinating all of it, which is what NetReputation is built to sell and a per-review or per-article vendor like Essentras is not. A buyer who wants one accountable firm to own an open-ended, multi-year reputation program, and who is comfortable with custom call-gated pricing and a signed, non-refundable retainer in exchange for that breadth, has a legitimate reason to choose NetReputation over a narrower, itemized product.
Where Status Labs genuinely wins
A corporation or public figure facing a genuinely multi-front problem, for example a coordinated negative-press situation combined with shareholder-activism risk, a leadership transition, and a need for Wikipedia and AI-visibility work at once, is a real case where a single full-spectrum firm with crisis-communications and advisory bench strength is the better fit than a per-review pricing model. Status Labs' multi-country office footprint and its litigation-adjacent, regulatory and financial-communications capability are genuine and are the kind of broad mandate that a fixed, per-deliverable pricing structure like Essentras's isn't built to scope. When the problem is bigger than search results, bespoke retainer pricing, even though it costs more and discloses less upfront, is the more honest model for the work involved.

The numbers behind this page
Every comparison on this site rests on two things we recompute rather than claim: the live catalog of what we actually sell, and a running study of what answer engines actually say. Both are linked below so you can check them.
Corpus figures recomputed 5 October 2026. Catalog figures are live.
How we compared
Both sides were compared on the same 10 dimensions, using published list pricing read off each vendor's own site on 4 October 2026. Where a vendor publishes nothing, the cell says so rather than carrying an estimate.
- 01Does the vendor publish a price for the job being bought, on its own site, before a sales call?
- 02Can it remove a live review at all, or does its own documentation say removal is the originating platform's decision?
- 03Is the removal scope stated plainly up front: which reviews qualify as policy violations and which never will?
- 04What does the exit look like: notice period, auto-renewal, refund rights, or nothing to cancel?
- 05Does suppression leave behind third-party URLs that stay live, or a page-one position that decays when billing stops?
Deliberately excluded. Features neither side documents publicly, and any claim that rests only on a single review or a vendor's own case study.
Essentras sells services in this category, so this page is not a neutral review. Every competitor figure is published list pricing you can check on the vendor's own site, and the case for choosing a competitor over us is stated on every entry rather than left out.
FAQ
NetReputation vs Status Labs, FAQ
Is NetReputation or Status Labs cheaper?▾
Neither publishes a price. Both run quote-only, with no plans, tiers or starting figures listed on their own sites, and cost is set case by case after a consultation. NetReputation's own cost page gives only an industry-wide range, not a specific package price, and Status Labs' services page says pricing is scoped individually against the work required, so cost cannot be compared before a sales call with either agency.
Can I cancel a NetReputation agreement partway through?▾
No disclosed path exists. NetReputation's own Terms of Service state that payment obligations under a signed client Agreement are non-cancelable and non-refundable, and that the company does not prorate its fees for services. A signed Agreement commits the client to the full fee regardless of when the engagement ends, with no partial refund disclosed anywhere in the published terms.
Does Status Labs guarantee results?▾
Its marketing says so, but the scope is not defined publicly. Status Labs' service pages describe campaigns as continuing until negative results are off page one, yet its posted Terms of Service cover only website use, not the client agreement. What the guarantee actually covers, and what happens if it is not met, is set only inside a private signed contract.
Which agency has visible customer reviews?▾
NetReputation does, Status Labs currently does not. NetReputation is rated 4.7/5 across 411 reviews on Trustpilot as of October 2026. As of the same date, Status Labs has no listed reviews on Trustpilot, G2 or Capterra, and its Clutch profile is marked not yet reviewed despite being listed there since 2012.
What did the New York State Inspector General report say about Status Labs?▾
An April 2025 report examined a one-year, $168,680 contract between Status Labs and the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation to push negative search results down. It concluded the contract was used chiefly to manage executives' own reputations, called that an inappropriate use of public funds, and noted a misnamed client in progress reports and one published article later found inaccurate.
Who is NetReputation actually built for?▾
Businesses, executives or individuals with a complex, multi-channel problem: defamatory content needing legal escalation, an executive's search results, a Wikipedia presence and coordinated crisis PR, all at once. It suits a buyer who wants one agency to own an open-ended program and accepts custom pricing and a non-refundable signed Agreement in exchange for that breadth.
Who is Status Labs actually built for?▾
Corporations, executives and public figures facing a broad reputation or crisis problem spanning search suppression, SEO, strategic communications and newer AI-visibility work at once. It fits a buyer who wants one full-spectrum firm, with offices across Austin, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, London and Hamburg, to scope and run all of it under a single bespoke proposal.
