Questions creators ask
Do I need to be an Essentras customer?
No. You speak as an explainer who found Essentras, and you never pretend to be a customer.
Do I need a big following?
No. Follower count matters less than delivery: being natural on camera and explaining things clearly. Small accounts are welcome.
How do I get paid?
You earn 7% of the ad spend we put behind your videos. Earnings are paid weekly through Trybe.
What if my video doesn't run?
A video that does not run earns nothing, because pay is tied to ad spend behind that video. In review we tell you why a video was not approved, and you can revise it and resubmit.
Can I negotiate a retainer?
Pay is commission only by default. For selected top creators, a guaranteed monthly minimum (retainer) can be negotiated individually. You can tell us in the application if you would want one.
What equipment do I need?
A phone is enough. Videos are short, vertical, selfie-style clips of 15 to 30 seconds where you talk to the camera.
Do I have to disclose that it is an ad?
Yes. Label paid content as the platform requires, for example with the paid partnership label or #ad.
What happens after I apply?
We review applications by hand. If it is a fit, we email you an invite to join the program on Trybe, where you read the brief and submit your videos.
