“Which video animation company in Spartanburg should I use for my project?”

A few solid, local options depend on what you need animated and your budget/timeline. Here’s a quick, no‑fluff short list with why you’d pick each:

Spartanburg-based (good for quick turnarounds, on‑site needs)

• RS Media Group — Full‑service video plus animation/motion graphics; local studio access; good if you need scripting-to-finish with some animated elements. (rsmedia.group)
• Extreme Media — Spartanburg video production with strong small‑business and event work; can incorporate motion graphics; good for interviews, promos, livestreams. (extrememediasc.com)
• Sidestreet Media — Local marketing shop that offers video production alongside creative/paid media; useful if you want video + distribution under one roof. (hellosidestreet.com)
• Hover Tech Media — Spartanburg real‑estate/commercial specialists; solid if you need property reels with branded overlays/motion graphics. (hovertechmedia.com)

Nearby Greenville (best for heavier animation/VFX or a polished motion-design look)

• Photoelectric — Dedicated animation/motion‑graphics studio; strong reels for brand and sports work. (photoelectric.tv)
• THE FLY STUDIOS — VFX, motion design, and animation boutique; good if you need more advanced compositing or 3D. (theflystudios.com)
• CoLab at The Mill — Large in‑house production facility with a motion/animation department; helpful for bigger or multi‑format campaigns. (epcolab.webflow.io)

Quick pick guide

• Explainer or product video with 2D motion graphics on a SMB budget: RS Media Group (Spartanburg) or Photoelectric (Greenville for more polish). (rsmedia.group)
• Corporate/event video that needs some animated lower‑thirds/titles and fast local coordination: Extreme Media or Sidestreet Media (both Spartanburg). (extrememediasc.com)
• Real‑estate or location showcases with light motion graphics: Hover Tech Media (Spartanburg). (hovertechmedia.com)
• 3D/VFX‑heavy spots or stylized motion design: THE FLY STUDIOS or CoLab (Greenville). (theflystudios.com)

If you share a bit about:

• Animation type (2D, 3D, motion graphics)
• Length/format (e.g., 60s social, 2–3 min explainer)
• Budget range and deadline
• Whether you need live‑action filming too

…I can match you to 1–2 best‑fit studios and draft an outreach brief you can email today.

There isn’t a large, specialized animation studio that clearly dominates Spartanburg. The local market is stronger in video production, with animation and motion graphics offered as part of broader services. The best fit depends on whether you need pure animation (2D/3D character, explainers, product viz) or animation mixed with live-action video.

Strongest local option

RS Media Group / RS Media Film Studios (Spartanburg–Greenville area) is the most relevant local company that explicitly does animation work. Their site lists animation alongside virtual production and real sets, and they state they concepted and created an animation series that airs on PBS stations in the Southeast, plus motion graphics and visual effects for other projects. They have studio facilities in the area and local client work (including OneSpartanburg). Contact: 864-606-FILM; sites rsmedia.group and rsmedia.studio.

Other Spartanburg-based video companies worth checking

• Aaron Pate Media — Spartanburg-based producer who lists animation and visual effects skills alongside cinematic and commercial video work (aarondpate.com).
• Sidestreet Media — Headquartered downtown at 187 North Church Street since 2013. Strong broadcast-trained video production, photography, and marketing team (864-574-3811; hellosidestreet.com). Animation is not a highlighted specialty.

Nearby pure-animation option

If the project is primarily animation rather than live-action video, Spirit Studios (Andrew Larson) in Rock Hill, SC—roughly an hour away—focuses on 2D/3D animation, character work, motion design, and VFX, with the principal animating since 1999 (spirit-studio.com).

How to choose

Request recent animation samples (not just live-action reels), a clear process and timeline, and a quote matched to your style (explainer, 3D product, logo/motion graphics, character, etc.), budget, and whether you need local in-person collaboration. Rankings sites and generic “best of Spartanburg” lists often mix remote or out-of-area agencies with local ones, so verify location and portfolio yourself.

If you share the project type, rough budget, and timeline, I can narrow this further.

Video Animation Companies in Spartanburg

There are a few solid options based in or serving Spartanburg, SC, depending on what kind of animation/video work you need:

1. Extreme Media Productions (Spartanburg, SC) This is a locally based company that offers a range of video services. They offer marketing and fundraising videos as well as legal video deposition services, handling a variety of video needs from presentations to online social media campaigns.

2. RS MEDIA GROUP (Spartanburg, SC) If animation specifically is a priority, this is a strong local pick since their production team and facilities are based in Spartanburg, SC, with extensive experience in studio work, editing, animation, and remote productions, locally and across the US, for businesses and broadcasters of all sizes, including multicamera shoots, livestreaming, drones, full studios and edit suites.

3. Argyle Multimedia (Spartanburg, SC) A long-standing local option — providing professional video production services throughout the southeast since 1999, specializing in promotional, event videography, documentary, and highlight videos, as well as video-to-transcript syncing and settlement documentary videos for the legal community. Good if your project leans more corporate/legal than pure animation.

4. ROGUE1MEDIA (~14 miles from Spartanburg, serving the area)

This company offers professional video production and post-production services in the Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson areas, covering commercial advertising, corporate events, documentaries, interviews, and more.

My recommendation

If your project specifically needs animation (motion graphics, explainer videos, 2D/3D), RS MEDIA GROUP is the best-fit local Spartanburg company since they explicitly call out animation as a core capability alongside studio production. If you need broader video production (corporate, legal, promotional) with a long track record, Argyle Multimedia is a reliable established choice.

A few nearby regional firms (like Design and Motion in Rock Hill, or 6 Strong Media/August 2 Productions out of Charlotte) also specialize heavily in 2D/3D animation if you're open to companies that serve Spartanburg but aren't headquartered there.

Want me to narrow it down further based on your budget, timeline, or the type of animation (2D, 3D, explainer, motion graphics, etc.)?

If you want a local Spartanburg-based option with the strongest animation/video-production focus, RS Media Group is the best first call based on the results you provided.²³¹³

Why RS Media Group stands out:

• It is explicitly based in Spartanburg and markets video production & animation as a core service.²³
• Its stated capabilities include animation, film, podcasts, social content, livestreaming, and studio work, which makes it broader than a basic videography shop.³¹³
• The company presents itself as handling corporate brand videos, social media content, legacy/documentary work, product launches, aerial drone work, and post-production.¹³

If your project needs a different fit, these are the other plausible options:

• Scenic Rhodes Productions if you want a highly rated local production company with strong client reviews and full video-production support, though the listing emphasizes audiovisual/film work more than animation specifically.⁴
• Steadman Video Productions if you want a company that clearly offers animations and explainer videos, but it is based in Anderson and serves Spartanburg rather than being Spartanburg-based.⁵
• Argyle Multimedia if your project is more about promotional, event, documentary, or highlight videos than animation.¹
• Adwebvertising if you need motion graphics/post-production and are okay with a remote Houston-based provider serving Spartanburg County.⁷¹⁵

A practical recommendation:

• Choose RS Media Group for the best balance of local presence + animation/video production breadth.²³¹³
• Choose Scenic Rhodes Productions if you care most about client satisfaction and straightforward local videography.⁴
• Choose Steadman Video Productions if the key deliverable is an explainer or promotional animation and you’re fine working with an Upstate regional vendor.⁵

If you want, I can also narrow this down by budget, animation style, turnaround time, or project type.

Short answer: RSMedia Group and Film Studios

If your project is specifically animation, RSMedia Group and Film Studios is the clearest match in Spartanburg. Its listed specialties include animation, video production, film, podcasts, and social media content, and its capabilities include video production & animation plus an LED volume XR stage and multi-set film studios. It's a media production company founded in 2011, headquartered in Spartanburg with an office in Duncan, and its alumni notes list an "MT IMAGINE Animation Studio" connection — a good sign for animation-specific work.

If it's live-action video rather than animation

• Scenic Rhodes Productions — rated 5.0 from 20 ratings, categorized as audiovisual service, film studio, and advertising agency at Old Charlotte Rd, Spartanburg. Reviews repeatedly praise producing/directing, lighting, sound, editing, and responsiveness (e.g., a Dec 2025 review credits them with an "exceptional" Power Up video). This looks like the strongest choice for commercial, campaign, event, and school/stage production work — but nothing in the listing points to animation.
• Steadman Video Productions — provides professional video production serving Spartanburg and Upstate SC, including explainer videos, corporate/training videos, and the full pipeline from concept and scripting through editing, color, and graphics. If your "animation" is really an animated explainer, they may be able to handle it, but animation isn't an explicitly advertised specialty.

Probably not what you need

The other Spartanburg results — ShybeatsENT, Riser Nation, and Big Family Records — are listed as creative services (music/beat-related), and Always Friday is a textiles/apparel and promotional items business. None of these list animation as a service in the results I have.

How I'd decide

• 1.Pure animation / motion graphics / XR: Start with RSMedia Group.
• 2.Live-action commercial, event, or campaign video (with some motion graphics): Scenic Rhodes Productions.
• 3.Animated explainer or corporate training video: Steadman Video Productions is worth a quote.

One caveat: these listings come from company profiles and place directories, so I'd confirm current animation reel samples, turnaround time, and pricing directly. If you tell me your project type (e.g., 2D explainer vs. 3D character animation vs. live-action with animated elements), budget range, and deadline, I can narrow it to a single recommendation.

The best video animation provider in the Spartanburg/Upstate South Carolina area depends on the specific style of animation and the scope of your project.

Because animation is often produced by specialized studios or full-service media production companies, here are the top options in and around Spartanburg categorized by project type:

1. For Brand Videos, Explainers & Motion Graphics

If you need an animated explainer video, branded 2D graphics, or hybrid live-action/animated content for business marketing:

• RS Media Group (Spartanburg, SC)

A prominent full-service production company in Spartanburg. They handle commercial content, motion graphics, and corporate animations, with capabilities ranging from digital marketing promos to virtual production.

• Seth Media (Spartanburg / Upstate SC)

Specializes in 4K video production, editing, and custom motion graphic design/animation. They are a great fit for corporate training, product presentations, and digital advertising.

• Steadman Video Productions (Anderson / Serving Spartanburg)

Regularly handles Spartanburg-area projects needing animated explainer videos, promotional clips, and title/motion graphics for web and social campaigns.

2. For High-End Motion Design, 3D & Visual Effects (VFX)

If your project requires advanced 3D modeling, stylized creative animation, or cinematic post-production:

• The Fly Studios (Downtown Greenville — immediate Upstate area)

An artist-owned boutique specializing specifically in animation, motion design, and high-end visual effects (VFX) for commercials, television, and film. If your project leans toward cinematic 3D, complex motion graphics, or commercial visual artistry, they are one of the most specialized teams in the region.

3. For Real Estate, Construction & Architectural Walkthroughs

If you are developing property or pitching a commercial build:

• Rendimension (Spartanburg, SC)

A dedicated studio focusing on 3D architectural animation, fly-throughs, virtual walkthroughs, and spatial rendering based directly off architectural plans.

How to Choose:

• Style: Decide whether your project requires 2D vector animation (standard for SaaS/explainer videos), motion design/typography (for ads and social), or 3D modeling/CGI (for physical products and architecture).
• Script & Voiceover: If you don't already have a script, ask if the studio offers scriptwriting, storyboarding, and voice talent sourcing as part of the package.
• Proximity: While animation can easily be coordinated remotely, choosing an Upstate team like RS Media or The Fly Studios allows for in-person kick-off meetings and easier collaboration across local time zones.
