Will AI cite your page?

ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews read and cite the web every day. Paste any URL: we score how likely AI is to cite you, from 1 to 100, and show you exactly what to fix.

A score is a prediction. This is the receipt.

You now know if AI could cite you.
Want to know if it does?

The score above reads your page and predicts. The check does the opposite: it finds the questions your buyers actually type, using Google’s own search-volume data, puts them to 7 live AI models with the web open, and shows you the answer word for word.

Your name highlighted if it is in there. The competitors it named instead if it is not.

How the score works

We render your real page (running its JavaScript, the way an AI crawler does), then score the 8 signals that decide AI citations across two axes: entity authority (brand mentions and press, Knowledge Panel, Wikipedia) and on-page extractability (original data, answer-first structure, freshness, AI crawler access, schema and authorship).

The heaviest signal is real-world authority: we check live whether Google gives you a Knowledge Panel, whether Wikipedia has you, and how many independent sites name your brand, because AI assistants cite sources they already trust. That’s why an established brand scores high even with a thin page.

This is a real analysis, not a vibe check. Powered by Claude Sonnet 4.5 plus live Google and Wikipedia checks on your actual page.

What is an AI visibility score?

An AI visibility score estimates how likely AI assistants are to cite your brand or page when they answer a question in your market. Search engines rank ten links; AI assistants pick a handful of sources and quote them. The sources they pick are brands the wider web already talks about, with a clear identity (Knowledge Panel, Wikipedia) and pages that are easy to quote: original data, answer-first structure, recent dates. This tool measures all of it on your live site.

The 8 signals behind AI citations

Each signal is scored 1-100 and weighted into your overall score. Entity authority carries 55% of the weight, on-page extractability 45%.

Entity authority

Brand mentions & press (share of voice)

25% of score

How many independent sites (press, reviews, comparisons, forums) name your brand. The strongest correlate of AI citation, far ahead of backlinks.

Knowledge Panel & entity clarity

15% of score

Whether Google shows a Knowledge Panel for you and treats you as one clear, consistent entity.

Wikipedia & reference-corpus presence

15% of score

Whether a matching Wikipedia page exists. Wikipedia is among the sources ChatGPT cites most.

On-page extractability

Information gain (original data & quotes)

14% of score

Original data, statistics and quotes that no other page has. The top on-page lever in controlled studies.

Extractable structure (answer-first, lists, tables)

12% of score

Answer-first sections, one question per heading, and real lists and tables that AI can lift cleanly.

Freshness

6% of score

Real, recent publish or update dates.

Technical eligibility (crawlable, AI bots allowed)

7% of score

Whether AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot are allowed in your robots.txt.

Schema & on-page E-E-A-T

6% of score

Structured data plus a named author with credentials. Useful, but low weight: schema alone does not earn citations.

FAQ

AI Visibility Score, FAQ

What does the AI Visibility Score measure?▾

How likely ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are to cite your brand or page. It combines 8 weighted signals on two axes: entity authority (brand mentions and press 25%, Knowledge Panel 15%, Wikipedia 15%) and on-page extractability (original data 14%, structure 12%, AI crawler access 7%, freshness 6%, schema and authorship 6%).

Is the tool free?▾

Yes. It is 100% free, needs no signup and works on any public URL. Every report gets its own shareable link.

What is a good AI visibility score?▾

70 or higher means AI assistants are likely to cite you. 40 to 69 means you get found but are rarely quoted. Below 40, AI will almost always cite a competitor instead.

Why does a famous brand score high even with a thin page?▾

Because AI answers come mostly from the third-party web and the model’s memory, not from your own page. A brand named across press, reviews and Wikipedia gets cited even when its homepage says little. That is why entity authority carries the most weight.

How do I improve my AI visibility?▾

Start with the top items in your fix plan. The biggest lever is getting named on independent, trusted publications. Then make your pages easy to quote: add original data, lead each section with a direct answer, show a real update date, and make sure robots.txt does not block AI crawlers.

Is this the same as GEO (generative engine optimization)?▾

It is the measurement side of GEO. SEO gets you ranked; GEO gets you cited in AI answers. The score shows where you stand today and which changes will move it.

Will schema markup or an llms.txt file get me cited by AI?▾

Not on their own. Controlled tests show no causal lift from schema on AI citations, and AI crawlers do not read llms.txt. Keep schema for normal Google rich results, but invest first in mentions and original content.
