Switching from Agility PR Solutions to Essentras
Thinking about moving off Agility PR Solutions? Here is exactly what the move involves, what carries over, and what does not.
Yes. You can leave Agility PR Solutions. Any article it helped you land stays live on the publisher's own domain; nothing is clawed back. There is no data migration to run. The real constraint is contractual: a 90-day written-notice window before your annual renewal date, after which you owe the full remaining term.
No obligation, and no pitch until you have seen what the replacement actually costs.
Why companies move off Agility PR Solutions
These are the reasons buyers give, not reasons we would like them to have. Agility PR Solutions is a good fit for a specific case, stated further down.
Cancellation window gets missed
The contract requires 90 days' written notice before renewal, and several Capterra reviewers describe being invoiced for a full extra year after missing that date, calling it a rip off or a bait and switch.
Notice given, charged anyway
One Capterra reviewer, a CMO writing in 2022, says they asked Agility to turn off auto-renewal roughly 80 days before the contract ended, inside the stated window, and were refused, then invoiced and threatened with legal action.
Cost outgrows the team
Smaller teams have called the subscription too expensive for a small PR agency, paying for a monitoring and database platform scaled for an in-house function larger than theirs.
Contact data goes stale
Independent reviewers report generic department inboxes, such as pr@ or contact@, instead of named personal emails for some outlets, with pitch emails bouncing as a result.
Platform feels dated
At least one reviewer describes the platform itself as a dated platform that lacks polish and features available in competitor tools, naming Meltwater, Prowly and Cision by comparison.
The five phases of moving off Agility PR Solutions
Clearing the Agility contract itself can take up to a year if you are outside the 90-day notice window, since the standard contract auto-renews and holds you liable for the remaining term's fees regardless of when you stop using it. Running a first placement through Essentras does not wait on that clock: each outlet publishes its own turnaround before you pay, and the two can run side by side from day one.
- 1
Find the renewal clock
Day 1Locate your Agility contract and confirm the renewal date. The notice window is 90 days before that date, not before an invoice arrives, so count backward now rather than waiting for a reminder.
- 2
Send written non-renewal notice
Day 1 to 3If you are inside the window, email [email protected] in writing and keep a copy. Per Agility's own terms, a verbal request or a late one does not stop the automatic renewal or the 8% increase.
- 3
Run one placement in parallel
Week 1Do not wait for the Agility term to end. Brief Essentras on one target outlet now, see its price, turnaround and link policy before paying, and get a confirmed live URL while Agility is still active.
- 4
Compare the live result
Week 2 to 4Check the published article against what the outlet promised: turnaround, link policy, placement. Use that result to decide how many further placements to run, and at what pace, before Agility's paid term ends.
- 5
Let the term run out
At renewalAgility access ends on the date you already paid through. Nothing is clawed back: any article it helped place stays live on the publisher's domain. Continue booking placements through Essentras as needed, with no renewal to track.
What you keep, and what you do not
Carries over
- Every article Agility helped place stays live on the publisher's own domain. Switching vendors does not remove, unpublish or alter it.
- There is no database to export and no CRM to migrate. Agility's contact lists and pitch history are tools you used, not an asset that needs to move to Essentras.
- If your Agility term is still paid up, its monitoring and alerts keep running until that term lapses. Starting with Essentras in parallel costs you nothing there.
Does not carry over
- Ongoing, self-run pitching to a global journalist database stops once Agility access ends. Essentras does not replace that search-and-send workflow.
- Continuous cross-channel monitoring, news, broadcast, social and podcast mentions in one dashboard, goes away with the subscription. Essentras does not monitor on your behalf.
- The PR CoPilot AI assistant and Agility's dedicated account and support team are specific to that platform. There is no equivalent seat or named rep carried over.
- Any outreach still in progress with a journalist when you stop paying is unlikely to be finished. That pitch was part of Agility's workflow, not a deliverable that transfers.
Contract note. Per Agility's own Standard Terms and Conditions (last updated Feb 2023): the agreement auto-renews for successive 1-year "Renewal Terms" unless the customer sends written notice of non-renewal at least 90 days before the renewal date (to [email protected]). Quoted fees are subject to an automatic 8% increase at every renewal. If the customer terminates for any reason other than Agility's own uncured breach, the customer owes all fees for the remainder of the then-current term. | Best for | Mid-market and agency PR/communications teams that want one subscription covering media-contact search, pitch outreach, and cross-channel (news/broadcast/social/podcast) monitoring, and that are comfortable negotiating a quote and an annual contract with a sales team rather than buying off a published price list. | Buyers who need one nameable article on a known outlet by a known date, rather than a pitching pipeline to run indefinitely. |

When Agility PR Solutions is the better buy
If you run PR as a continuous, in-house function, dozens of pitches a month, many clients or brands to track, a need to search a million-plus journalist records yourself, and monitor news/broadcast/social/podcast mentions across all of them in one dashboard, a subscription platform like Agility is the structurally right tool, and a one-off purchased placement from Essentras doesn't replace that infrastructure at all. Buyers who want to own the pitching relationship and the contact list themselves, rather than buy a finished placement, are better served by Agility (or a comparable database/monitoring platform) than by any pay-per-placement model.

The numbers behind this page
Every comparison on this site rests on two things we recompute rather than claim: the live catalog of what we actually sell, and a running study of what answer engines actually say. Both are linked below so you can check them.
Corpus figures recomputed 5 October 2026. Catalog figures are live.
How we compared
Contract and pricing details were read off Agility PR Solutions's own published terms and pricing pages on 4 October 2026. Where a term is not published, this page says so instead of describing one.
- 01Is every tier priced in public, including the largest one, or does the top plan route to a sales call?
- 02Can you know which outlet will publish before you pay, or only after a journalist picks your pitch?
- 03What renewal day looks like: minimum term, notice period, and whether fees already paid are refundable.
- 04Whether cost scales with attempts or with results, and what you have bought in a month where nothing publishes.
- 05Whether the link policy, dofollow or nofollow, is stated before purchase or left entirely to each publisher.
Deliberately excluded. Anything a sales representative said on a call, and anything reported in a single review without a document behind it.
Essentras sells services in this category, so this page is not a neutral review. Every competitor figure is published list pricing you can check on the vendor's own site, and the case for choosing a competitor over us is stated on every entry rather than left out.
FAQ
Switching from Agility PR Solutions, FAQ
Can I cancel Agility PR Solutions at any time?▾
Not without cost. The standard contract auto-renews for a further 1-year term unless you send written notice at least 90 days before the renewal date. Cancel outside that window, or for any reason other than Agility's own uncured breach, and you are liable for all fees remaining in the current term, per Agility's published terms and conditions.
What happens to articles Agility already helped place?▾
They stay exactly where they are. A published article lives on the publisher's own domain, not inside Agility's platform, so leaving the vendor does not remove, unpublish or alter anything already live. The same is true in reverse: once a placement is live on an outlet's domain, it does not depend on any ongoing subscription to stay there.
Is there a data migration or integration to rebuild?▾
No. Agility is a database, pitching workflow and monitoring dashboard you used directly, there is no customer data file, API connection or CRM sync that needs to move to a new vendor. Your own contact lists and pitch history simply stop being added to once you stop paying.
How do I actually cancel, and who do I notify?▾
Per Agility's own terms, written notice of non-renewal goes to [email protected], at least 90 days before your renewal date. Keep a copy and a delivery confirmation: several reviewers report verbal or late requests being refused, with the account invoiced and renewed anyway.
Can I start somewhere else before my Agility term ends?▾
Yes, and it is the better order of operations. Because there is no shared data and no integration to disconnect, you can brief a first placement through Essentras immediately and keep Agility running in parallel, rather than waiting for a contract date that may be months away.
Is the price I negotiated with Agility confidential?▾
Yes. The standard contract includes a confidentiality clause barring customers from disclosing the price they negotiated, and Agility's own pricing pages carry no dollar figures, directing every visitor to a sales call instead. That figure is not published anywhere, so this page does not estimate one.
Is there ever a good reason to stay with Agility instead of switching?▾
Yes, if you run PR as a continuous, in-house function: dozens of pitches a month, multiple clients or brands to track, and a need to search a large journalist database yourself and monitor news, broadcast, social and podcast mentions in one place. That is genuinely what Agility is built for, and a one-off purchased placement does not replace that ongoing infrastructure. Switching makes sense when you want a specific result delivered, not a tool to run yourself.
