Which wires publish no price?

PR Newswire, GlobeNewswire and Cision publish no rate card. Below is what third parties publish about them, each with its source, date and our evidence grade, so you can see how far apart the figures are. Then use the checklist to get quotes you can compare.

PR Newswire

PR Newswire, owned by Cision, publishes no rate card: we found no per-release price on prnewswire.com on 14 Oct 2026, and its FAQ says cost varies with distribution scope, geographic reach and extra services. Third-party figures for a single release run from $355 (Prezly, state circuit) to more than $1,500 (eReleases, national). Expect a quote.

GlobeNewswire

GlobeNewswire, run by Notified, publishes no rate card for its full-service wire: its FAQ says price depends on distribution requirements, geographic reach and service package, and points to sales (read 16 Oct 2026). Its self-service page names 4 flat-rate packages but shows no amounts. Third-party estimates, such as Prezly's $350 for 400 words, are not published prices.

AuthorityTech, citing Vendr contract data, puts small deployments near $15,000 a year and enterprise programs above $200,000. PRWeb, a Cision brand, lists $120 to $480 per release.

Ask every quote-only wire for the same 6 lines

  1. Circuit: which state, regional, national or international list the price covers, and which named outlets are guaranteed to post the release.
  2. Words: how many words the price includes and the charge per extra 100.
  3. Multimedia: the logo, photo and video charges, each as its own line.
  4. Fees outside the release: membership, setup, rush and translation.
  5. Reporting: what the pickup report shows, and when you get it.
  6. Term: whether the price needs an annual commitment or a minimum number of releases, and how renewal works.

What changes the price of a press release?

These 7 things move the price. Each line uses the verified prices in the table above.

Word count
Caps run from 375 words (24-7 Press Release Mass Media Visibility) and 400 (eReleases Buzz Builder, Business Wire's starting price) to 2,500 (EIN Presswire Corporate). eReleases charges $150 per extra 100 words; Newswire.com, ACCESS Newswire and the other 24-7 Press Release plans include unlimited words.
Reach
A single state costs $599 at Newswire.com and ACCESS Newswire, and starts at $99 at Send2Press. National tiers at Newswire.com, eReleases and ACCESS Newswire run $399 to $1,205. International is quoted at ACCESS Newswire, and costs $150 per country or $1,000 global as an eReleases add-on.
Named outlets
The jump from $399 to $965 at Newswire.com is the outlet list: AP News from Basic ($659), Yahoo and Nexstar on Feature. ACCESS Newswire adds Yahoo Finance and AP at National ($865) and Business Insider at US Premium ($1,205).
Images and video
PRWeb includes unlimited media assets at every tier, Newswire.com unlimited images and ACCESS Newswire unlimited multimedia. eReleases includes 2 images and charges $200 to embed a YouTube video. EIN Presswire allows 1 to 5 images and 1 video, by plan.
Volume
EIN Presswire falls from $149 to $66.60 per release on its 15-release plan. ACCESS Newswire takes 5% off 3 releases and 10% off 5. PRWeb and Newswire.com publish no volume price, and eReleases mentions a bulk discount without a figure.
Disclosure
Regulated disclosure is what PR Newswire, Business Wire and GlobeNewswire quote for. Newswire.com marks its State package "not for regulatory distribution".
Writing
eReleases charges $300 and Send2Press $199 to write the release.

How can you pay less for a press release?

01

Write to the cap

eReleases bills $150 per extra 100 words, so a 500-word release on Buzz Builder ($549) costs more than Newsmaker ($499). At EIN Presswire, 700 words keeps you on the $149 plan.

02

Buy volume only when you will use it

EIN Presswire's 5-pack ($499) beats single releases from the 4th release in 365 days (4 × $149 = $596). ACCESS Newswire single releases expire after 60 days.

03

Use a state package for local news

$599 at Newswire.com or ACCESS Newswire, or from $99 at Send2Press, instead of a national tier.

04

Ask for first-order offers

eReleases offers first-time customers 30% off, and Send2Press 10% off a first project. EIN Presswire adds a free release to Pro+ while its limited-time offer runs.

05

Pick a plan that includes your images

Images are unlimited at Newswire.com, ACCESS Newswire and PRWeb. eReleases includes 2 and lists image embedding at $150.

06

Write it yourself

It saves $300 at eReleases or $199 at Send2Press.

07

Pay for the outlet, not reach you will not use

If AP News is the goal, compare an AP News press release in our catalog ($317) with Newswire.com Basic ($659), which adds Digital Journal and more.

08

Make quote-only wires quote the same spec

Send PR Newswire, GlobeNewswire and Business Wire the same word count, circuit and multimedia, and ask for every line in writing.

Which option fits your goal?

Which option fits your goal?
Investor disclosureA disclosure wirePublic companies announcing material news use PR Newswire, Business Wire or GlobeNewswire, all by quote. ACCESS Newswire's National tier ($865) lists broker and trading terminals at a published price. Named outlets do not replace a disclosure wire.
Local newsA state package or a local outlet$599 for a single state at Newswire.com or ACCESS Newswire, from $99 at Send2Press, or Business Wire from $475 for a local 400-word release. For a local news site by name, our catalog lists Patch at $433.
SEOCoverage, not linksWire links are nofollow: EIN Presswire's FAQ says it allows only nofollow links, and Business Wire's blog says the same of its releases. Google's spam policies list optimized links in press releases distributed on other sites as link spam. Which fees do press release price pages leave out?

Use this as a checklist against any quote or plan. Each line names where we found it.

  • Extra words$150 per 100 at eReleases; quoted at Business Wire; Newswire.com claims PR Newswire charges $245 per 100.
  • Images and videoeReleases: $150 image embedding with no stated unit, $200 for a YouTube video. EIN Presswire caps images by plan.
  • LogoIncluded in Business Wire's starting price. Prezly estimates $100 or more at GlobeNewswire, whose owner says there is no logo charge. Newswire.com claims $495 at PR Newswire.
  • Setup and membershipNone listed at the published-price wires. eReleases' FAQ cites a $305 setup fee at PR Newswire. Ask every quote-only wire.
  • International and translationeReleases: $150 per country or $1,000 global. ACCESS Newswire quotes international. GlobeNewswire charges for translation.
  • ExpiryEIN Presswire credits last 365 days. ACCESS Newswire single releases last 60 days and packs 12 months.

Is buying a named outlet cheaper than a wire?

Sometimes the wire is cheaper, and the numbers below show where. ACCESS Newswire's US Premium ($1,205) lists Yahoo Finance, AP and Business Insider; bought one by one in our catalog those cost $667, $317 and $420, or $833 as our 3-outlet press release bundle. Newswire.com's Feature ($965) lists AP News and Yahoo. What a named placement buys is certainty: you choose the site, see the price first and get the live URL, or a full refund if it does not publish.

Outlet prices are live catalog prices, read 27 Oct 2026. A wire tier sends your release across a circuit; each Essentras placement is a single named page, with the live URL delivered, or a full refund if it does not publish. Outlet lists in wire tiers are the vendors' own claims.

How we checked these prices

On 14 Oct 2026 we read each vendor's pricing page directly. EIN Presswire, PRWeb, eReleases, Newswire.com and Send2Press loaded, and their figures are grade A. Business Wire, GlobeNewswire and ACCESS Newswire blocked our reader and PR Newswire reset the connection, so we used the pages as quoted by a search engine (grade B) or marked the price as not published. On 16 Oct 2026 we read 24-7 Press Release, Brandpush, IssueWire, OpenPR, PRLog and PR.com on their own pages and opened ACCESS Newswire and GlobeNewswire in a browser, which raised both to grade A. Business Wire still returned Access Denied, so its starting price stays grade B, and PR Newswire still reset the connection.

Third-party figures appear only when we can name the source, with its date and grade, and they never feed the calculator. Our own outlet prices come from the live catalog and are labeled as ours.

We recheck monthly and log every change below. Spotted a price that moved? Tell us and we will recheck it.

What other guides got wrong

  • Prezly's June 2026 PRWeb figures ($110, $230, $340, $455) sit 5.5% to 9.1% below PRWeb's current list.
  • Third-party pages still cite EIN Presswire at $99.95 or $399 for 10 releases; its page says $149, $499 for 5 and $999 for 15.
  • SaaSWorthy's ACCESSWIRE prices date from November 2021.
  • Newswire.com's own 2022 blog lists prices its pricing page no longer shows.

Change log

  • 14 Oct 2026: rebuilt this page around verified vendor prices and added the cost calculator.
  • 14 Oct 2026: corrected EIN Presswire ($499 for 5, not $399), PRWeb ($120 to $480, not $99 to $489) and eReleases plan names; Newswire.com does publish prices; ACCESSWIRE is now ACCESS Newswire.
  • 14 Oct 2026: PR Newswire, GlobeNewswire and Business Wire national figures now appear as attributed third-party figures, not as prices.
  • 16 Oct 2026: read 24-7 Press Release, Brandpush, IssueWire, OpenPR and PRLog on their own pages (their prices had not been verified before) and added PR.com. Published single-release prices now run from $21 (IssueWire Tier 1) to $1,205 (ACCESS Newswire US Premium).
  • 16 Oct 2026: read ACCESS Newswire and GlobeNewswire on their own pages and raised both from grade B to A. GlobeNewswire publishes no amounts, and its old /pricing address now returns a 404. Business Wire still returned Access Denied, so its starting price stays grade B.

FAQ

Press release distribution cost, FAQ

How much does a press release cost in 2026?▾

Published prices for a single release run from $21 (IssueWire Tier 1) to $1,205 (ACCESS Newswire US Premium), checked 14 and 16 Oct 2026. National packages at Newswire.com, eReleases and ACCESS Newswire cost $399 to $1,205. Business Wire starts at $475 for 400 local words, and PR Newswire, GlobeNewswire and Cision quote every buyer. Free plans with limited distribution exist at IssueWire, OpenPR, PRLog and PR.com.

What is the cheapest way to distribute a press release?▾

At published prices: IssueWire Tier 1 at $21, PRLog Basic at $29, 24-7 Press Release Simple Post (own site only) at $29 and its Visibility Boost at $49, Send2Press from $99 for a single state, PRWeb Basic at $120, or EIN Presswire at $149 for a single release and $66.60 each on its 15-release plan. Free plans with limited distribution exist at IssueWire, OpenPR, PRLog and PR.com (read 16 Oct 2026).

How much does a press release on AP News or Yahoo Finance cost?▾

Bought by name in our catalog: an AP News press release costs $317 and a Yahoo News/Finance press release $667 (read 27 Oct 2026). In wire tiers, Newswire.com Basic ($659) lists AP News, Feature ($965) adds Yahoo, and ACCESS Newswire National ($865) lists Yahoo Finance and AP.

Why do PR Newswire, GlobeNewswire and Cision not publish prices?▾

They quote per account: price depends on the circuit, reach, word count, multimedia and, for Cision, modules, seats and term. That makes a comparison impossible without a quote, so ask each one for the same lines in writing.

Do press release prices include media pickup?▾

No. A wire distributes your release across its circuit; it does not promise that journalists cover the news. Outlets listed in a tier are the vendor's own claims, so ask which are guaranteed to post it.

Is a more expensive wire worth it?▾

It is when you need what the price buys: regulated disclosure, named outlets in a higher tier or an email to journalists. It is not when the extra money buys reach you will not use.

How much does it cost to have a press release written?▾

eReleases charges $300 and Send2Press $199, as published on their pricing pages on 14 Oct 2026.

Do press releases help SEO?▾

The value is coverage and brand mentions, not the link. Wire links are nofollow at EIN Presswire and Business Wire by their own statements, and Google's spam policies list optimized links in distributed press releases as link spam.

Are bundles cheaper than buying outlets one by one?▾

Often. ACCESS Newswire's US Premium ($1,205) lists Yahoo Finance, AP and Business Insider, which cost $667, $317 and $420 one by one in our catalog, or $833 as our bundle. Compare the names, then decide whether a wider circuit or 3 confirmed pages matters more.

How often do these prices change?▾

PRWeb's list moved 5.5% to 9.1% between Prezly's June 2026 snapshot and our check on 14 Oct 2026, and EIN Presswire's plans no longer match most third-party pages. We recheck monthly and date every row.
