Instagram support

Instagram support number: is there a phone line you can call?

No. Instagram's Help Center says Meta has no general public phone number for customer service and that numbers claiming to be Meta support are potentially scams. The exceptions are narrow: Meta Verified Premium and Max subscribers can request a call from an agent inside the app, and 650.543.4800 is listed for copyright (DMCA) notices, not account help.

Talking to a person

How to reach a person at Instagram without calling

Meta documents human contact in only a few places. Everything else is self-serve, automated or AI-assisted.

Meta Verified support

Human agents by chat (mobile app only) and email (24/7) on every plan, priority on Plus, Premium and Max, and call requests on Premium and Max. Meta's Meta Verified page listed those 2 plans at $149.99 and $499.99 a month on 15 October 2026; Meta's pages do not all agree, and local prices vary.Source: Instagram Help Center, read 15 Oct 2026; Meta, read 15 Oct 2026

What to do instead of calling: pick your situation

Every problem people try to call about has an official route. Pick yours to see the channel and the first 3 steps. Nothing you click is sent anywhere.

What happened?

All 11 situations and their official channels

My account was hacked

Someone changed your password, email or phone, or posted as you.

Official channel

The security email link, then instagram.com/hacked

First 3 steps

  1. Search your inbox and spam for an email from [email protected] about the change, and select secure my account in it. Open it in your own mail app.
  2. If that fails, type instagram.com/hacked into a browser, or tap Forgot password? on the login screen and request a login link to an email or phone on the account.
  3. If the link does not work, request support from a mobile device with a secure email only you can access, then complete the identity check Instagram asks for.

Watch out: Do not pay anyone who offers to get it back faster, and never share a login code.

My account was disabled

A message at login says the account was disabled or suspended.

Official channel

The review request shown at login

First 3 steps

  1. Log in and read the full message. If it offers a review, follow the on-screen instructions: that is the official appeal route.
  2. No disabled message? The account may be hacked, deleted or hitting a login problem, so use the hacked path instead.
  3. If you can still use the account, open Settings, then Account Status, to see removed content and request a review.

Watch out: Instagram says a deleted account cannot be restored.

I am locked out

Forgotten password, lost phone, old email, or a 2-factor code you cannot get.

Official channel

Login screen help and instagram.com/hacked

First 3 steps

  1. Tap Forgot password? and request a login link to any email or phone still on the account.
  2. If you no longer have that email or phone, start at instagram.com/hacked and follow the on-screen instructions for people without access.
  3. Use a phone and network you have used with Instagram before. Meta says recovery now recognizes your usual device and familiar locations better.

Someone is impersonating me

A profile pretends to be you, your brand, or someone you know.

Official channel

An in-app report, or the impersonation form if you have no account

First 3 steps

  1. Save the profile's username, link and screenshots before you report it.
  2. With an account: open the profile, choose Report, and pick the impersonation option.
  3. Without an account, or while locked out: use Instagram's impersonation form. Reports are anonymous, except intellectual property reports.

Watch out: Meta Verified includes an impersonation protection benefit for subscribers.

I am being harassed or bullied

Comments, messages or posts that target you.

Official channel

The Report option on the content, then block

First 3 steps

  1. Take screenshots that show the usernames, the messages and the dates.
  2. Use Report on each post, comment, message or profile, then block the account.
  3. If someone threatens your safety or threatens to share private images, contact local police as well. Instagram's reporting help has a section on threats to share private images.

A payment, subscription or Meta Verified problem

Billing, refunds, or your verification status.

Official channel

Meta Verified support, or the Subscriptions support form

First 3 steps

  1. Meta Verified billing or status: in the app, go to your profile, Menu, Meta Account, Meta Verified, Get support, Contact support.
  2. An Instagram Subscription you pay a creator for: use the Subscriptions support form with your email and the Apple or Google Payments ID from your receipt.
  3. Ad payments: use Meta Business Support Home.

Watch out: Meta says its representatives never ask for payment details over chat, text, email or phone.

My ads or ad account were restricted

Rejected ads, a disabled ad account, or a failed payment.

Official channel

Meta Business Support Home

First 3 steps

  1. Open Business Support Home and check the status of your ad accounts, business portfolio and Pages.
  2. Select the issue and follow the steps shown, including a review request for ads you believe were wrongly rejected.
  3. Use Contact support or the Meta AI business assistant, and check any "Meta" call or email against Business Support Home.

My business or creator account has a problem

A professional account, team access, or a hacker still acting on it.

Official channel

Meta Verified for businesses if you subscribe, plus the standard paths

First 3 steps

  1. If the business subscribes to Meta Verified, contact support from the Instagram app. Anyone with access to the business account can.
  2. If someone took over the account, use the hacked path first. If you can still log in but a stranger keeps acting, remove them in Meta Business Suite under Business Settings, Users, People.
  3. Check Business Support Home for linked ad accounts, Pages and restrictions.

A general question or a bug

How a feature works, a setting, or something broken.

Official channel

The Help Center, the Meta AI support assistant and Report a Problem

First 3 steps

  1. Search the Instagram Help Center for the feature or the exact error message.
  2. Ask the Meta AI support assistant: in the Help Center, select Ask a question while logged in.
  3. For something broken, use Report a Problem: your profile, Menu, Help, Report a Problem.

Scam protection

Phone scams that use Instagram's name

With no public phone line, any phone contact about your Instagram account deserves suspicion. These are the patterns to know.

Fake support lines

Numbers in ads and listicles that answer as "Instagram support", then ask for login codes, your ID, payment, or a fee to "unlock" the account.

Threat calls and texts

Messages that warn of deletion, a copyright strike or a verification problem unless you act now. Instagram says security messages arrive only at your email address, never by Direct Message.

Code harvesting

A login code arrives that you did not request, then someone posing as support asks you to read it back. A login code is a key to your account. Never share it.

SIM swaps

If your phone suddenly loses service and codes stop arriving, call your carrier from another phone and ask about a SIM or port-out PIN. Then secure your email and Instagram.

Recovery agents

Accounts that reply to your public post and offer to get the account back by phone or WhatsApp for a fee. Nobody outside Meta can change its decision.

If you already called a fake number

  1. If you can still log in, change your Instagram password and the password of the email on the account, and turn on 2-factor authentication. Hacked account help
  2. If you shared card or bank details, call your bank or card issuer.
  3. In the US, report it to the FTC and to the FBI, and forward phishing emails to [email protected]. ReportFraud.ftc.gov · ic3.gov

FAQ

Instagram support phone number, FAQ

Does Instagram have a customer service phone number?▾

No. Instagram's Help Center says Meta, including Instagram, has no general public phone number for customer service, and that numbers claiming to be Meta customer support are potentially scams (checked 15 October 2026). Meta adds that it may offer specialized phone support in certain jurisdictions or with certain products or features.

Is 650.543.4800 Instagram's support number?▾

Not for account support. Instagram lists 650.543.4800, with [email protected] and a Menlo Park mailing address, as the contacts of its DMCA designated agent, who handles copyright notices. Instagram says its online copyright form is the faster route. It is not a channel for hacked, disabled or locked accounts.

Can I call Instagram about a hacked or disabled account?▾

Not through any public number. Use instagram.com/hacked or Forgot password? for lost access, and the review shown at login for a disabled account. Meta Verified Premium and Max subscribers can request a call about access or security issues, but the documented path starts from the verified profile in the app.

Which Meta Verified plans include phone support?▾

Premium and Max. Every plan includes chat in the mobile app and email support around the clock, and Plus, Premium and Max get prioritized support. You request a call under Meta Verified, Get support, Contact support, and hours vary by language and region. Support works only for an active subscription after verification is complete.

Someone called me saying they are from Instagram or Meta. Is it real?▾

Treat it as fake until proven otherwise. Meta says its representatives never ask for your password, payment details or other sensitive information by phone. Hang up, open Instagram yourself and check Recent emails in your settings. Business owners can also check the notices in Meta Business Support Home.

Is there an Instagram helpline or a number I can text?▾

No public helpline or SMS support number appears in the Instagram help pages we read. Instagram may text you a login link or code that you requested yourself. If a code arrives that you did not request, do not share it with anyone.

What is the fastest way to reach Instagram without a phone?▾

It depends on the problem. Lost access: instagram.com/hacked or Forgot password?. Disabled: the review option at login. A how-to question: the Meta AI support assistant, which Meta says typically answers in under 5 seconds. Bugs: Report a Problem in the app. Meta Verified subscribers: chat in the mobile app.

Why do search results show "Instagram support numbers"?▾

Anyone can publish a page or buy an ad. In our 14 October 2026 check, 5 of the 9 results a search tool returned for "instagram support email" were spam-style pages on unrelated sites. Instagram itself lists no general support number, so a page or ad that offers such a number is not Instagram.
