- Premium: the Meta Verified FAQ prints $49.99, the same as Plus, while the fine print on the same page says $149.99. We use $149.99.S9
- Top plans: Meta Verified and Meta Verified for businesses list $149.99 and $499.99, while Meta One lists $149.00 and $499.00.S9S10S12
- Standard: the plan table shows $14.99 for web or app sign-up, while the page text and FAQ say the web price is discounted to $11.99 in most regions.S9
Meta One
Meta One: what changes for current Meta Verified subscribers
Meta now says Meta Verified features are available in Meta One, a newer subscription that builds on Meta Verified.S9S10
For current subscribers, Meta's statement is short: nothing changes at the moment, and Meta will notify you once you are able to switch.S10
Meta draws the line this way: Meta Verified focuses on identity, meaning the badge and impersonation protection. Meta One includes those plus extra features and more AI usage across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI.S10
On Meta One, the badge is an option on Essential, Advanced, Expert and Max, subject to eligibility. Meta tries to verify you automatically from your activity during sign-up, that step cannot be skipped, and the badge stays off until verification passes.S22
What Meta has not said yet
- When switching opens, or whether Meta Verified plans will close.
- Whether current Meta Verified prices, including the $11.99 web price, carry over.
- How a switch affects a badge you already hold.

Per year
What Meta Verified costs per year
Meta bills creator plans monthly and lists no yearly creator price. The totals below are our arithmetic: the monthly list price times 12, before tax, discounts or currency conversion.
| Plan | Per month | 12 months (derived) |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Verified Standard (web)S9 | $11.99 | $143.88 |
| Meta Verified Standard (app)S9 | $14.99 | $179.88 |
| Meta Verified PlusS9 | $49.99 | $599.88 |

| Meta One ExpertS10 | $149.00 | $1,788.00 |
| Meta One MaxS10 | $499.00 | $5,988.00 |
- Business plans cost the same per month as the Meta Verified creator plans at each level, so their 12-month totals match the Meta Verified rows.S12
Local prices
Meta Verified price in your country
Meta does not publish a price list by country. Its pages give US dollar list prices, say the $11.99 web and $14.99 app prices apply in most regions, and tell you to start signing up in the Instagram or Facebook app to see the price for your market.S9
Meta One pricing also varies by country and plan. Meta names no countries for either product, only selected regions.S5S10
The only country-specific price on the pages we read: Business Standard bought on desktop in New Zealand costs $11.99 a month per Instagram account or Facebook Page.S12
How to see your exact price
- Open the Instagram or Facebook app and switch to the profile you want to verify.
- Start the Meta Verified sign-up. Meta shows the local price for each plan before you pay.
- On a computer, compare the web price: Meta says Standard is cheaper on the web in most regions.
Reported elsewhere, not verified
Third-party figures go stale and rarely cite Meta. We list only reports we read ourselves, with their dates. Treat them as a reason to check the app, not as prices.
| Market | Reported price | Reported by | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Australia | AUD 20.99 a month on the web | ThePricer2025-06-02 | Not attributed to a Meta page. Not verified by Essentras. |
What Meta does not publish
As of 2026-10-15, none of the Meta pages we read states any of these:
- A price list by country. Meta prints US dollar list prices and shows your local price in the app when you start signing up.
- A list of countries where Meta Verified or Meta One is available. It says selected regions.
- A date when current Meta Verified subscribers can switch to Meta One, or what switching will cost.
- The size of the creator bundle discount for 1 Instagram plus 1 Facebook profile. Businesses get a stated 20%.
- The minimum activity level Meta Verified requires, or how many recent profile changes are too many.
- How many news articles the free notability route needs.
- Any reach or follower figures for verified accounts.
What you get
What you get for the money
Every plan with the badge includes impersonation protection. Higher plans add link, profile and support features. Meta publishes no reach or follower figures for any plan.

- Meta notes that 24/7 chat or email support may not be available to every subscriber.S9
- Business plans add WhatsApp features such as verified channels and linked devices and, on higher plans, more business addresses, employee impersonation protection and protected business accounts. Meta's footnote on 24/7 support says some businesses that advertise on Meta already have that benefit.S12
What the money does not buy
- Guaranteed reach. Meta lists search optimization and, from Plus up, a featured profile, but publishes no reach or follower numbers. Customer quotes on its business page mention more reach; those are anecdotes, not Meta data.S6S12
- A notability signal. Instagram says the badge confirms an authentic presence and is not a symbol of importance, authority or expertise.S1
- Freedom to rebrand. After verification you may not be able to change your username or date of birth without verifying again, and name edits are limited and reviewed.S9S8
- Benefits on your other accounts. Benefits apply only to the subscribed profile.S9
Worth it?
Is Meta Verified worth it? A decision table by profile
The subscription buys identity proof, impersonation protection and a support channel, billed monthly, with no refund once you are approved. Whether that is worth it depends on what you are protecting. The table is our judgment, built on Meta's published rules.
| Profile | Usually the best fit | Worth paying when | Skip or wait when |
|---|---|---|---|
| CreatorS8S9 | Meta Verified Standard: $11.99 on the web or $14.99 in the app | Impersonators copy your account, brands or followers ask whether you are real, or you need a support channel when something breaks. | Your profile name does not match your legal ID yet, or you plan to change your username soon. Fix those first: both are locked or limited after verification. |
| Small businessS10S12 | Meta Verified for businesses or a Meta One business plan, from $14.99 per Page or account | Customers message you, scammers clone your Page, or you want WhatsApp verified channels. Facebook plus Instagram together saves 20%. | Your account is quiet. Meta decides which plans you see from your business activity, so build activity before you pay. |
| Public figureS2S8 | The free notability route first, then Meta Verified if you do not qualify | Independent news coverage of you is thin, so the free route is unlikely to pass, and impersonation is a real risk. | Multiple independent news outlets already cover you: apply free. If you go by a stage name, read Meta's name rules first, because the paid route needs your legal name unless you qualify for another. |
| BrandS2S12 | The free route if the brand is well known, otherwise a business plan | The brand is real but not yet widely covered, and fake accounts or customer trust are the problem. | The brand is already highly searched for and covered by multiple news sources: apply free first. |
If none of these problems apply to you, skip it for now. You can subscribe at any time, but cancellations after approval are not refunded.S14
Free route
The free badge: notability, and why paid media does not count
Instagram still offers a route with no fee: apply as a public figure, celebrity or brand. Besides following Instagram's rules, the account must be authentic, unique, complete (public, with a bio, a profile photo and recent activity) and notable.S2
Notable means a well-known, highly searched for person, brand or entity. Meta says it reviews accounts featured in multiple news sources and that "we don't consider paid or sponsored media content as sources for review". It does not say how many articles are enough.S2
You request the badge in the Instagram app, not on a computer. Meta answers in Activity within 30 days. If it says no, you can apply again after 30 days, and applying again before a decision cancels your request.S3S4
Why paid coverage does not count
Meta's test is whether independent news sources chose to cover you. A sponsored post, an advertorial or a placement you paid for is paid media, so it is not part of the review, whether or not it carries a label. That last point is our reading of Meta's wording.S2
Essentras sells media placements, so to be plain: a placement bought from us, or from anyone, is paid media and should not be counted on for Meta's notability review.
What counts is earned coverage: articles a journalist decided to write about you. Our guide to both routes lists what to collect before you apply.
Cancelling
If you cancel: what happens to the badge and your money
Meta Verified for creators
- The subscription stays active until the end of the current billing cycle. Then every subscribed profile loses verification and all benefits, including support and any open support cases.S13
- Cancel at least 24 hours before the next payment date, or you are charged for another cycle.S13
- Meta gives no refunds, credits or partial refunds for cancellations.S13S14
- Cancel where you bought it: a purchase made on a computer is cancelled on a computer, an Apple purchase on your iPhone or iPad, a Google purchase in Google Play. Deleting the app or signing out does not cancel.S13
- Want the badge gone now? You can end benefits immediately, which removes the badge at once, with no refund.S13
Businesses, Meta One and the free badge
- Businesses: the same rules apply, and a subscription bought in Meta Business Suite can only be cancelled by someone with full control of the business portfolio.S19
- Meta One: benefits run to the end of the billing cycle, the badge and impersonation protection can be removed when you cancel, and there is no refund unless the law requires one.S21S22
- The free badge has no subscription to cancel. Accounts verified under earlier rules keep the badge, but Instagram can remove any badge, for example if it is sold or if you try to verify through a third party.S1S3
When you can get a refund
Cancelled by Meta (revoked)
- A revoked subscription loses its benefits immediately, not at the end of the cycle. Meta lists failed payments with no backup method, policy violations, moving to a country without Meta Verified, deleting the account and plan changes made directly in the App Store or Google Play.S15
- Advanced Protection stays on while you subscribe. Meta says the way to turn it off is to cancel Meta Verified.S17
Getting help
Do you need to pay anyone besides Meta?
Usually not. If you are 18 or older, live where Meta Verified is offered and your profile name matches your government ID, you can subscribe yourself, and review takes up to 3 business days.S5S6
Essentras offers one-time application help for $1,200, separate from Meta's subscription, for the harder cases: names that do not match the ID, stage names, brands and applications Meta already denied. If your case is simple, the free checker will show it.
Whoever helps you, apply from your own account. Instagram lists attempting to verify an account through a third party among the reasons it can remove a badge or disable the account.S3
FAQ
Meta Verified cost: questions people ask
How much does Meta Verified cost per month?▾
Meta Verified Standard costs $14.99 a month per profile when you subscribe in the Instagram or Facebook app and $11.99 on the web in most regions. Plus costs $49.99, Premium $149.99 and Max $499.99 a month. Your local price appears in the app when you start signing up (Meta, checked 2026-10-15).
Why is Meta Verified cheaper on the web?▾
Meta says the Standard plan is discounted when you sign up on the web: $11.99 a month in most regions, against $14.99 in the app. Meta does not give a reason. Plus, Premium and Max can only be bought in the mobile app, so the web discount applies to Standard only (Meta, checked 2026-10-15).
How much does Meta Verified cost per year?▾
Meta bills creators monthly and lists no yearly creator price. At list prices, 12 months of Standard cost $143.88 on the web or $179.88 in the app; Plus costs $599.88, Premium $1,799.88 and Max $5,999.88 a year. These totals are our arithmetic, before tax, discounts or currency conversion.
How much does Meta Verified cost for a business?▾
Meta Verified for businesses lists Business Standard at $14.99, Plus at $49.99, Premium at $149.99 and Max at $499.99 a month per Facebook Page, Instagram account or WhatsApp number. Subscribing Facebook and Instagram together saves 20%, and the plans you see depend on your business activity (Meta, checked 2026-10-15).
Is there a discount for verifying Instagram and Facebook together?▾
Yes, but only businesses get a stated figure. For creators, Meta says bundling 1 Instagram and 1 Facebook profile may give a discounted price and publishes no percentage. For businesses, Meta's plan page says subscribing on Facebook and Instagram saves 20% on the total. Offers vary by region (Meta, checked 2026-10-15).
What is Meta One, and does it replace Meta Verified?▾
Meta One is a newer Meta subscription that builds on Meta Verified. Its Essential, Advanced, Expert and Max plans, $14.99 to $499.00 a month, include the option to get the badge after identity verification. Meta says nothing changes for current Meta Verified subscribers at the moment and it will notify them when they can switch.
Do I lose my verified badge if I cancel Meta Verified?▾
Yes, at the end of your billing cycle. The subscription stays active until the cycle ends, then every subscribed profile loses verification and all benefits, including support. You can also end benefits immediately, which removes the badge at once. Meta gives no refunds or credits for cancellations (Meta, checked 2026-10-15).
Can I get a refund for Meta Verified?▾
Only in 2 cases: you did not finish verification within 3 days of starting, or Meta could not verify your identity. Cancelling after approval or partway through a billing cycle earns no refund. App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded through those stores, and refunds can take up to 60 days (Meta, checked 2026-10-15).
How much does Meta Verified cost in my country?▾
Meta does not publish a price list by country. It prints US dollar list prices and says your local price appears when you start signing up in the Instagram or Facebook app. The only country-specific figure on the Meta pages we read is $11.99 for Business Standard bought on desktop in New Zealand.
Can I get the blue check on Instagram for free?▾
Yes, if you qualify as a notable public figure, celebrity or brand. Meta checks that the account is authentic, unique, complete and notable, reviews accounts featured in multiple news sources and does not count paid or sponsored media. It answers within 30 days, and you can reapply 30 days after a denial (Meta, checked 2026-10-15).
Do paid or sponsored articles count toward the free badge?▾
No. Meta says it does not consider paid or sponsored media content when it reviews notability. We read that as anything you paid an outlet or marketplace to publish, labeled or not. What Meta's wording describes is independent coverage: articles a journalist chose to write about you (Meta, checked 2026-10-15).
Does Meta Verified increase reach or followers?▾
Meta publishes no reach or follower figures for Meta Verified. Its plans list search optimization and, from Plus up, a featured profile, and customer quotes on its business page mention more reach. Those are features and anecdotes, not measured results, so buy it for identity and protection, not growth (Meta, checked 2026-10-15).
Is Meta Verified worth it?▾
It is worth it when impersonation, trust or support access is a real problem: Standard buys identity proof, impersonation protection and chat and email support for $11.99 to $14.99 a month. If you are notable, try the free route first. If none of that applies, skip it, because cancellations after approval are not refunded.
Can someone else get me verified?▾
Not by applying for you. Instagram lists attempting to verify an account through a third party among the reasons it can remove a badge or disable the account, and Meta Verified needs your own government ID and Advanced Protection on your account. A helper can review eligibility and fix your profile; apply from your own account.
